About Fanning the Fame
Being the drummer in a famous rock band has its perks. For Danny DeSano, getting the girl has never been the problem. Holding onto her is another story.
After a failed marriage and watching his ex-wife move on, Danny is finally reevaluating the parties, supermodels, groupies, and meaningless relationships that have helped build
his bad boy reputation.
He wants something different now.
Most importantly, he wants to become the kind of man his son can look up to.
Then he meets Topaz.
Patty “Topaz” Del Feliz spent most of her life wanting one thing — to be wanted. After growing up feeling like the ugly duckling, she’s transformed herself into a pop superstar desired by millions.
But the attention isn’t enough anymore.
Topaz’s career has been built around a provocative image, outrageous publicity, and the idea that sex sells. Now she wants something she isn’t sure anyone believes she deserves: respect as an artist.
When Danny D. — Tortured’s notorious bad boy — shows an interest in her, Topaz assumes she knows exactly what he wants. And at first, she’s perfectly fine with that.
Using each other is harmless if they both know the rules. Right?
But Danny begins seeing something in Topaz that others have ignored. He encourages her to pursue the music she actually wants to make instead of relying on scandal to keep her name in the headlines.
As their professional and personal lives become increasingly intertwined, the attraction between them becomes harder to dismiss — and what was supposed to be purely physical starts looking dangerously like something real.
Fanning the Fame is a rock star romance about two people with larger-than-life reputations discovering that there is much more to each other — and themselves — than what the public sees.

Meet Danny & Topaz
Behind Fanning the Fame
Fanning the Fame turns the spotlight toward two characters whose public personas tell only a fraction of their stories.
Danny DeSano has been part of the Dream Catchers world from the beginning as the drummer of Tortured. Over the course of the series, readers have seen his marriage, divorce, friendships, and role as a father — along with the wild reputation that follows him everywhere.
Topaz entered the series as a larger-than-life pop star with an equally notorious image. Beneath the blue hair, sexy outfits, and publicity stunts, however, is Patty Del Feliz — someone who spent much of her life believing that being desired was the same thing as being valued.
Putting Danny and Topaz together created the opportunity to look beyond both of their reputations. They each enter the story believing they already know what kind of person the other is, only to discover how much exists beneath the image.
The book also gives Topaz a story beyond romance. As Danny encourages her to pursue the kind of music she actually wants to create, she begins questioning the version of herself that the entertainment industry — and the people around her — helped manufacture.
For the first time in the Dream Catchers series, Fanning the Fame is told through two points of view, allowing readers inside both Danny and Topaz’s heads as their relationship changes from attraction and friendship into something much harder to ignore.
Although it is Book Seven, Fanning the Fame was also written so new readers could follow Danny and Topaz’s central story without having read every previous installment.
