Expressions is the third installment in the Dream Catchers series and takes readers beyond Haley and Jordan’s point of view to explore the thoughts and experiences of other characters throughout their world.
Told as a collection of vignettes, this 121-page companion book uses letters, blog entries, song lyrics, and other glimpses into the characters’ lives to reveal another side of the stories readers experienced in Dream Catchers and Breaking The Moon.
Characters who once lived on the edges of Haley and Jordan’s story finally get a chance to speak for themselves — including Jordan’s brother Drew and the unforgettable Bippy Reynolds.
Fans of Tortured will also find five original song lyrics from the fictional rock band woven into the book, adding another layer to the music and emotions behind the series.

Behind Expressions
After writing Dream Catchers and Breaking The Moon, I wanted to spend some time with the characters whose stories didn’t always get told from their own point of view.
Expressions gave me the chance to hand the story over to them. Characters like Jordan’s brother Drew and Bippy Reynolds could finally have their own voices, while letters, blog entries, and other formats allowed me to show sides of the characters that wouldn’t necessarily fit into a traditional novel.
Music was another big part of the project. Tortured had become such an important part of the Dream Catchers world that I wanted readers to experience more of the band’s music, too. Expressions includes five original Tortured song lyrics written specifically for the fictional band.
At the time, I even hoped to take Tortured beyond the page and record an album of original songs with my friend, musician and songwriter James Manzello. While only “Haley’s Letter” was ever produced into an actual song, the rest of the project never came together, but some of that creative idea lives on inside Expressions.
