Haley Foster has never really bothered to believe in herself or figure out what her dream might be.

With few close friends and a serious case of social anxiety, she dreads returning home from college to spend the summer interning at her father’s law firm. The future waiting for her feels safe, predictable, and completely wrong.
Then fate steps in at a bus station when Haley literally bumps into Jordan Walsh.
Jordan is a laid-back musician with unpolished manners, rock-star confidence, and very little patience for Haley’s carefully constructed bubble. The two immediately get under
each other’s skin — yet Haley can’t deny that she is drawn to him.
When a series of mishaps leaves them stranded together, Jordan challenges Haley to do something completely unlike her: stop living the life everyone else has planned for her and take a chance on New York City.
For the first time, Haley has to decide whether she is willing to step outside of everything she knows, discover who she really is, and chase a dream she never knew she had.

Behind Dream Catchers
Dream Catchers was my second novel, but the story actually began years before I published it.
I first wrote the opening chapter in October 2001 while I was a freshman in college. A lot of Haley’s emotions in that chapter came from feelings I was experiencing at the time — uncertainty, anxiety, and the process of trying to figure out who I was and what I really wanted from life.
When I returned to the story years later, I wanted to finish Haley’s journey of self-discovery and explore the idea that dreams can come true — but sometimes you have to be willing to chase them when the opportunity finally appears.
Music was also a huge inspiration for the world of Dream Catchers. The fictional band Tortured was inspired in part by 30 Seconds to Mars, and Jordan Walsh drew some
inspiration from Jared Leto — including a little nod to his My So-Called Life character, Jordan Catalano.
What I didn’t know at the time was that Haley and Jordan’s story would eventually grow into an eight-book series and become one of the longest-running creative worlds of my writing career.
